Gaging interest in cooking videos

Hey, I wasn't sure where to put this, but as it's blindness specific I thought here would be best.

I just bought a tripod with a clip for my phone, so I can make videos hands free. Anyway I thought I might make some that are focussed on cooking, so like a mini podcast but with video too.

Would anyone be interested in this? I'll talk you through the recipe, the techniques I'm using to make the food, how I know when it's cooked. Obviously sighted people can watch it too for the recipe, but I would definitely make sure I describe things as well so that blind people can watch too, and get advice and little tips on cooking in general.

I'm not sure if there are many videos like this out there. I find often I can't follow the ones on youtube because they rely on me being able to see them.

there's that blind chef that won a cooking competition reality show, I'm guessing she's got something like this out. But don't know, since I never cared to look. maybe be worth a google.

ooooh thanks, I have heard of her. I didn't know if she actually targeted her stuff at blind people though, or just, hey I'm great at cooking, which is fair enough because she probably is lol.

I'd watch them. It's a great idea! Please keep us posted, if you go ahead.

I might even do some of my own. What did you get to hold your phone? My only concern about this is that I wouldn't know how to position my phone correctly. Don't want to embarrass myself on YOutube. LOL

There is also cooking in the dark, and cooking without looking. I've only see
little clips of cooking without looking, but cooking in the dark is absolutely
awful. The performances are just terrible, and some of the techniques are
terrible. You'd have to watch them for yourself to see what I mean.

I bought a tripod, with a clip specifically for phones. I'll set it up, take a couple of short clips and text it to someone to check probably!

I'd love to tune in to these if you choose to do them. :)

Don't forget to monetize on YouTube. Your time is valuable to you. And if you get enough hits, then that will be a little more pocket money for you.

Not to steel from the original poster, but I've contemplated doing something like this but with grilling. I probably grill at least 1 third of the year, everything from vegies to pizza, to ribs, to steak to desserts. I even do full on smoking including salmon, ribs, and pulled pork. Would there be any interest?

Yes please do because I can't grill for the life of me!

if you do start videos, post an update here and I will tune in to them when they're up.

me and my partner are doing something kind of like this, but we have not touched on cooking yet. if you need someone to edit your video, let me know, I don't mind and I do it for fun.
